Construction AccidentsJim Belliveau, PittsburghConstruction Accident Lawyers find that visitors and workers injured on construction sites often are not aware of valuable benefits available to them. If you were injured on a construction job, Workers’ Compensation will cover your medical bills and a portion of your lost wages, but that may not begin to cover your actual expenses. It is possible you are entitled to a second or third personal injury claim against the owner of the site, the manufacturer of dangerous equipment, or some other party responsible for your injury. If you would like to talk with me about your accident, contact my Pittsburgh law firm and make arrangements for a free consultation and case evaluation. Construction site safety is regulated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). Violations, however, are routine. A worker more than eight feet off the ground is required to have fall protection and be tied off with a belt and cord. Sub-contractors should be adequately supervised to avoid unsafe scaffolding, ladders, or debris that may create a fall hazard or the use of unsafe materials. In cases involving construction death, death by electrocution, a forklift accident, or a crane accident, the fault may lie with the manufacturer of the dangerous equipment involved. I have successfully recovered settlements and verdicts on behalf of estates and families in wrongful death and survivor claims. At my Pittsburgh law firm I work to identify all sources of compensation on behalf of my clients, and to clearly demonstrate to insurance adjustors and juries the responsibilities of those parties.
